Original filters
There are many good reasons to use original filters rather than non-original ones.
Quality: By using original filters, you ensure that the filters are of good quality that meet the manufacturer's standards. Original filters remove the right amount of particles and dust, which creates a good indoor climate. This is especially important for allergy sufferers or those who react to poor air & indoor climate.
Airflow: Systems that use such filters are of the type we call balanced ventilation . This means that the airflow is balanced throughout the home, so that all rooms have fresh and good air. For this to work properly, there are many different parts involved that must work properly. Everything from motors, valves, and filters.
Original filters manufactured by the supplier of your system are thoroughly tested and optimized to function as best as possible. This means that the air flow is neither too large nor too small, but is maintained in accordance with the design of the balancing.
Non-original filters can have a negative effect on airflow & balance, by either letting too much air through, or by being too tight in relation to what the system is set to, which causes the system to have to work harder than recommended.
Energy consumption: If the filters do not have the correct air flow, this can lead to more wear on the system by having to work harder. This also results in higher energy consumption than with the correct type of filter, and can have an impact on power consumption. This is especially true if the exhaust filter does not function properly, which will affect the heat recovery function of the system.
